| How
do I register? How do I register? First, click on either the “Calendar” button or the “#1 Pick a Date” button and review the dates on the calendar. Choose a weekend that works best for you. Second, click on either the “Packages” button or the “#2 Pick a Package” button and choose the package that you prefer. When you click on the “Click Here to Purchase This Package” button you will be sent to our PayPal™ shopping cart where you will be prompted for your next step. You may choose to pay by Instant Transfer, eCheck or Credit Card. You will receive a confirmation e-mail from Scrap-N-Away as well as a payment confirmation from PayPal™. If at any time you have a question please feel free to give us a call. You may also pay by personal check but please call (661) 245-2468 for instructions. Third, click on either the “Forms” button or the “#3 Fill in Forms” button. There you will find the necessary forms that must be printed, filled in and sent to us by either fax, regular mail, or by e-mail if you have a scanner. Forms must be received by Scrap-N-Away before you arrive.
Follow the directions for registering, making sure each guest completes their forms and returns them to Scrap-N-Away. When you get to the PayPal portion enter the number of guests, click the “Update Cart” button and the payment amount will automatically change to the appropriate cost. For security reasons, maps to Scrap-N-Away will be e-mailed to you with your confirmation. Scrap-N-Away has ample parking! Carpooling is appreciated, but up to you.
The minimum number of guests is 6. If the number of registrations for a weekend does not meet the minimum you will receive either a transfer to another weekend or a full refund. The maximum number of guests at Scrap-N-Away is 11.
Scrap-N-Away has 5 bedrooms
and 3 bathrooms. Each guest room is themed differently with a cozy
country feel. There is a queen bed in one room that is reserved
for 2 people to share. There is a “quad” room set up
for four people to share with 2 sets of bunk beds. There is one
room with 2 twin beds for 2 people to share and a room with three
twin beds for 3 people to share. There is closet space for you to
store your bags.
Please let us know if you have any food allergies, we will make sure to have alternatives for you! At Scrap-n-away you will never go hungry! There will always be something cooking and snacks and desserts will be served 24 hours a day (not the best time to be dieting!!) If you have any requests we will do whatever we can to make you happy!
Adhesives, paper, pens and a variety of embellishments are available for purchase. Page kits with different themes are available. Stampin-Up™ supplies will be available for use, purchase and ordering. For information on ordering product to receive when you arrive, please see next topic below "What Can I Order...?”
Your cell phone will not work at Scrap-N-Away. There is a telephone that can be used and the number can be given to your family to reach you for emergencies. 1. Warm slippers, comfy
sweats and cozy jammies. This weekend is all about scrappin and
being pampered! No need for makeup and getting dressed up! As far as scrapbooking supplies, take a look at the list of supplies we have for you to use, then bring what you may want to use for the weekend. It is always best to have your pages planned out ahead of time, but if you need help organizing we can help you with that just give us a call ahead of time. Don’t forget your photos, album and adhesives! We are constantly adding new tools and products to the workshop. It is out goal to offer more supplies to our guests than any other workshop around. You will have the opportunity to take part in any of the technique demonstrations that are taught at Scrap-N-Away. You are not required to take part if you do not wish to. Demonstrations will range from Walnut Inking/distressing and collage style pages, to Holiday card making and even Paper Piecing classes. There are so many different types classes that we guarantee there will be something that interests you (while at the retreat, you may have a “how did they do that” thought. Please be sure to ask and we can teach you how.) There is no additional charge for the make and takes or technique demonstrations.
Lots of hearty, warm, stick-to-your-bones food. It just kind of goes with the feel of the house and the mountains. Home made soups and hot sandwiches for lunch. Lasagna and other casseroles for dinner and of course fresh out of the oven brownies and cookies (is your mouth watering yet?) Special accommodations will be made for guests with food allergies, just let us know ahead of time. Oh and I forgot to mention….chocolate around the clock!
Yes, there is a stereo in the workshop as well as hundreds of CD’s to choose from. We try to keep a large variety of music, so that there is something for everyone. Please feel free to bring your own favorite “cropping music” to share.
Absolutely! We have a DVD player in the workshop room.
Yes, the workshop is downstairs and you are welcome to grab one of our 1000’s of scrapbooking magazines or books and curl up next to the fire. If you want some fresh air you can sit out on the 1400 square foot deck. Since the property is so large you can take a walk around the grounds and never even have to leave the property.
There are shops and restaurants in town. Click here to see our "Location" page. Also, we have a directory and maps that you can check out when you get to the retreat. If you would like to receive a massage while at the retreat let us know, we can have a massage therapist come to the house. You will pay the therapist directly. Yes, throughout the weekend you may participate in the make and takes as well as the demonstrations. There will be no additional charge for the make and takes or the demonstrations. Oh yeah! As a way of showing you our appreciation we have put together a fantastic goodie bag for you. You will be welcomed with a bag filled with goodies including a variety of scrapbooking products. |
